Loose Joint Hinges, variably referred to as slip, separable or take-apart hinges, have always been catalogued as right or left hand hinges. Because applications may vary, this has caused errors in in specification as to which is right or left hand. To simplify the selection of all loose joint hinges, we have identified each hinge by type and illustrated them in some detail. These hinges may be modified by hole piercing, swaging, forms and finishes. Refer to Special Hinge Guide. Other gauges, widths, lengths, and pin materials can be made to order.

This section contains the sizes and numbers of loose joint hinges which are considered standard and are usually carried in stock. These are surface type blank hinges without holes and less finish. They have spun or loose pins of similar material.
