Rare Earth magnets are ideal for miniaturized applications because of their extremely high energy level and resistance to demagnetization. Mag-Mate raw magnet material is available in a variety of styles, shapes, sizes and strengths, and meet Magnetic Materials Producers Association (MMPA) standards of physical quality and magnetic properties.
When choosing magnets to meet your specifications, first determine the type of raw material needed, such as Rare Earth magnets, ceramic magnets or flexible magnetic rubber. Next, select the magnets that meet your needs based on strength, size, magnetic orientation, direction of the materials, tolerances and finish.
Neodymium (NdFeB) Magnets are recommended for applications with temperature ranges under 200°F. Raw Rare Earth magnets have a flat metallic appearance, and tend to be very brittle. Caution should be used when grinding, so as not to crush the material. Please be aware the dust particles created when grinding or cutting Rare Earth magnet materials may produce a fire.
